The Pittsburgh Steelers hold on to avoid an upset by the Buffalo Bills today. The Buffalo Bills came back from a 13 point first half deficit to force overtime. The Bills had several chances to get the win in overtime but squandered the opportunities by fumbling and dropping passes. The Steelers end up kicking a field goal and winning in OT by a final score of 19 to 16.
I guess you probably have heard the saying “you are what your record says you are” before. On Thanksgiving Day, the Bengals, the Lions, and the Cowboys proved this saying to be true. All three of three of these teams have bad records, all three of these teams loss on Thanksgiving Day, and all three of these teams are playing some bad football.
Michael Vick didn’t have as many ridiculously amazing plays as he did last game but he was still quite impressive. I saw him make an incredible move to elude a defender as he raced to the end to score a touchdown for the Eagles today. Vick has defeated both Manning brothers this season and still has not thrown any interceptions. Although Vick didn’t put out big numbers today, he did outplay his competition and led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 27 to 17 win over the New York Giants. The Philadelphia Eagles are the most dangerous team in the NFC
The Buffalo Bills prove that they are not the worst team in the NFL by beating the Bengals today. The Bengals might be the worst team in the NFL falling to 2 wins and 8 losses. The Buffalo Bills however are on the rise and got their second win of the season today by beating down the Bengals by a score of 49 to 31.
It was Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady as the Indianapolis Colts took on the New England Patriots. It was a classic battle between two of the best quarterbacks in the league. It looked like Peyton Manning was going to have another heroic 4th quater comeback when he threw a game ending interception with under a minute to go. The New England Patriots went on to win by a score of 31 to 28.
Michael Vick’s performance on Monday Night Football was incredible. The Washington Redskins did not know what hit them. The Philadephia Eagles took an early lead of 28 to 0 over the Redskins in just the first quarter! Michael Vick passed for 333 yards and scored a whopping 6 touchdowns in the game! Vick threw 4 TD passes and ran for another 2 TDs. Several Monday Night Football records were broken as the Eagles went on to destroy the Redskins by a score of 59 to 28 in what was an incredible performance.
Despite the recent benching of Donovan McNabb, the Washington Redskins have given him a 5 year contract extension said to be worth as much as 88 million with 40 million of it guaranteed. It looks like Mcnabb will be finishing his career playing in the Washington DC area.
How bout them Cowboys? A new coach may have been just what the doctor ordered as the cowboys go on to defeat the New York Giants by a score of 33 to 20 today. This was the first game the Cowboys have played under new head coach Jason Garrett. Cowboy’s backup QB Jon Kitna passed for 327 yards and three touchdowns against a New York Giants team that was ranked as one of the best in the NFC. The Cowboys now have 2 wins and 7 losses while the Giants fall to 6 wins and 3 losses.
It was bound to happen sooner or later as the Buffalo Bills won their first game of the season today. The win came against the struggling Detroit Lions who have lost an NFL record 25 games in a row on the road. In what was a battle of two of the worst teams in the NFL, the Bills defeat the Lions by a score of 14 to 12.
This is one of the better Sunday night matchups as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the New England Patriots. It is Tom Brady vs Big Ben and this could be a preview of a furture playoff matchup. The Steelers have the edge because they are playing at home but this should be a very good game. http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=pro-football-blog-20&o=1&p=13&l=ur1&category=sports&banner=1FG4SKMXKH8ANN37MB82&f=ifr
