Roger Goodell Drops Hammer on New Orleans Saints
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints today punishing them severely for their involvement in the bounty scandal known as Bountygate. The punishment was severe. Saints head coach Sean Payton was suspended for a year without pay. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was banned for the first eight regular-season games next season. The team’s former defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams , was indefinitely banned. the biggest story in the NFL right now involves Gregg Williams for setting up a bounty system while with the New Orleans Saints. It is reported that players and coaches pooled a little extra cash every week to pay a bounty on big hits on opposing players on the other teams.
