Roger Goodell Drops Hammer on New Orleans Saints

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints today punishing them severely for their involvement in the bounty scandal known as Bountygate. The punishment was severe. Saints head coach Sean Payton was suspended for a year without pay. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was banned for the first eight regular-season games next season. The team’s former defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams , was indefinitely banned. Goodell also fined the Saints a half million dollars and took away their second-round draft pick this year and in 2013.

Roger Goodell sent a clear message that that this type of thing will not be tolerated in the NFL. Click here for a video of Goodell talking about the bounty scandal incident.
