Tony Romo just got a 6 year deal worth 108 million to stay with the Dallas Cowboys! It is reported that 55 million of it is guaranteed! In other words, Tony Romo got more guaranteed money than Superbowl 47 MVP quarterback Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens. The Dallas Cowboys were beating the Detroit Lions 27 to 3. That is when the comeback started. The defense was able to score on 2 interceptions and then Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson took over from there, leading the Detroit Lions to an amazing 34-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys today. How bout them Cowboys? A new coach may have been just what the doctor ordered as the cowboys go on to defeat the New York Giants by a score of 33 to 20 today. This was the first game the Cowboys have played under new head coach Jason Garrett. Cowboy’s backup QB Jon Kitna passed for 327 yards and three touchdowns against a New York Giants team that was ranked as one of the best in the NFC. The Cowboys now have 2 wins and 7 losses while the Giants fall to 6 wins and 3 losses.
Jerry Jones has had enough. The Cowboys have been playing some terrible football this season and a move had to be made. Head coach Wade Phillips got fired and assistant head coach Jason Garrett got promoted to interim head coach. The Cowboys currently have just 1 win and 7 losses.
